Drive Shaft Boots and Steering Geometry

Just had my car serviced at East London PC. Received the usual observations about discs and pads - I'm used to it now as they've been telling me to replace them for the last three services!

Then there was the other stuff. Apparently, both inner and outer drive shaft boots are split on one side. Is this a diy job and is it a biggy? Not that I'll be doing it - a mate of mind should be well capable of doing the necessary. Are there any tricky bits to be mindfull of though?

Also, there's uneven wear on the front tyres. Steering geometry needs realignment I'm told. I know it needs all that laser stuff. Can anyone suggest somewhere in East Kent where I could get it done reliably at reasonable cost?

You can get the boot kits from Eurocarparts for about £23( thats for a pair) (They come in boxes marked Porsche and they also fit 928s and variants of the 911) any competent garage/mechanic can do the job the most crucial tool is a 6 sided 32mm socket to get the drive axle hex nut undone. To get the shafts out its easier to drop out the diagonal braces under the car but you can decide that when you size up the job.Send me your email address and I'll email you some files on how to do the job. bryno@globalnet.co.uk

On the subject of the 4 wheel geometry thing, I'm pleased to say that I have found a place with the right gear just a mile or so from where I live. Cars booked in for Monday so that will hopefully see the job done.
