Driver’s window not returning to closed position

hello all. Recently noticed an issue. when I unlock and move the door handle to open the car the window opens slightly as it should, but When I close the door the window doesn’t return to fully closed position. In order to close it probably I have to put the ignition on to start, use the window control button on the door.

I also have a possibility related issue with the same window when trying to close it: I have to hold the button up until closed. passenger window works fine: hold for a second and it closes automatically.


anyone seen this before? It’s still under warranty so will take it in unless this there’s a quick fix? TiA

Resetting the window may fix it. Try the following:

To reset (car must be on):
1) lower window all the way down and release switch
2) push switch down, hold it down for 3 seconds, and release
3) raise window all the way and release switch
4) pull switch up, hold it for 3 seconds, then release
5) turn car off and back on

Just to add to the helpful reply about re-setting your window's stop positions: These sort of 'memory' settings and stored adaptation values, can be affected by either the battery having been disconnected, or having low charge. Something to bear in mind, if a vehicle only has occasional use and isn't connected to a Porsche/Ctek battery conditioner.

To agree with the last post, I tried the reset on my previous 991 and it temporarily worked - the window returned to the close position. After it soon 'lost' its memory again I returned to my OPC to look at the car under an intended warranty claim and they quickly identified the car required a replacement battery (for my account, obviously!)
