Driver Training

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend somebody for driver training, in the South East region (the closer to Hertfordshire the better).
I had heard of recommendations a few years back but cannot recall the names now.
Ideally a combination of both road driving and track driving tuition.

Man thanks

Stuart

On the basis of an introductory course that was put together for R10 members, I can personally recommend CAT driver training which is run from Millbrook.

Colin is a super tutor.

I definitely recommend John Cave - based in north Oxfordshire, just off the M40.

Read this thread for my experience.

I also went on an IAM skills day for track tuition, which was also great fun and I learned a lot.

Happy driving

If you want the best there is on a track day then I recommend Mike Wilds or his son Anthony.

Mikes web site is here:

Anthony can be seen in action coaching me in my GT 3 at Castle Combe here:

Mike and Anthony are still racing and were runners up in the production class of Britcar last year. I can not recommend them highly enough. They will teach you loads

Really appreciate all these tips.

I have booked CAT driver training with Colin on April 9th. Must admit that the main reason is that Millbrook is very close to me. I've opted for the one day Advanced Road and Track Combination which Jo said is a great place to start.

Maybe I will finally get a flavour of what my car is capable of !

Any tips on track day insurance also gratefully received.

Thanks

Stuart
