Drivers Bolster repair

Hi All , just had my drivers bolster recovered with the correct Maroon pinstripe material. This was done in a very professional manner by Chris at Custom Coach Trimming in Honeybourne near Evesham. Chris sourced the correct material from Holland and because it was a small job fitted it in and the job was completed in a couple of days. Previously he retrimmed my 54 TF and made an excellent job of it as well. Importantly his rates seem quite reasonable

Another one of these small but annoying issues with my car now solved...

hi well done , this is exactly the problem i have always had with mine,…mine is half cream fo leather/vynl and pinstripe velure

have you any photos to share?
and would you mind sending me a pm with telephone address details if you don’t mind as this is something that has always bugged me since i bought mine

thanks
Daniel

Hi Daniel, if you google the company name you'll get to the website with an e-mail address, tel number etc for Chris
Posting pictures on this site seems terribly involved and i've never been able to do it. rest assured he does a good job. I took the car over to him and he ordered some samples from one of his suppliers in Holland. They sent back 2 swatches with different spacings between the pinstripes so we were able to match mine exactly. After he had got the material in stock i took the seat out of the car and left him with it. I've always had trouble taking seat runners out of cars due to rust in the fixings but this was easy, no rust and only 6 allen bolts plus 2 electric plugs to undo.
i'll try and post some pics... no promises

its one of the most rewarding jobs I've done as its such an eyesore

thanks Eddie , will have a look at that, appreciate it.

yes it’s the only thing that really lets my car down as i know it has to get done by a professional to look good so i have been putting it off for years , just hope his not to far away from me in essex , will google the address once i look at it .

many thanks again !

Daniel

Dan, it is a long way from you in Essex! I'm sure there are other trimmers around. the good ones are always busy but for a bolster leaving the seat for a few days should work. the guy at Customcoach trimming does a lot of odd ball things like big Yankee saloons and hotrods in weird colours..
Just make sure you get the right cloth
Eddie

cheers for that martin,…i didn’t realise there was something so close that people are using for our cars ! will look into asking if they can get the velor,….my 986 also needs the bolster repaired in red leather as i k now you loved that colour combo when you first saw it! :ROFLMAO:
