Drivers seat stuck

I've just replaced all the carpet in my car and started to put the seats back in.

After putting the 4 rear bolts in the drivers seat I moved the seat back to do the front, the seat didn't go back far enough but when I went to move it back further it now won't move. It's only releasing the runner on the door side, the runner at the other side is remaining locked.

When I removed the seats the metal bar that runs from the handle to the runner on the other side fell off so I pushed it back in and never thought anything of it, wish I had tested it but it now looks like it has fallen out again so I am stuck, I can't see the rear bolts to remove them and I can't move the seat back or forward, help!

I've circled the section in the photo that I think may have come out.

What's the chances of using a long bar to slide under the seat and try to lift the section that the rod moves into whilst also operating the lever? Have you also tried it whilst sitting on the seat?

That plastic clip is in 2 parts, if both bits are not present the rod falls out, I noticed on mine the clip get very brittle so I'm guessing yours may have broken

Tried with me in the seat and out, problem with getting something under the seat is that space is limited and I can't see what I'm doing, shame as the cars looking great with the black carpet set!
