Drivers side floor mat slipping

Hi All!

Trivial subject I know, but it's started to drive me nuts! The drivers side floor mat (a proper Porsche one) moves about while I'm driving. Sometimes too close to the seat, then the mat gets caught when lifting the clutch up, sometimes too far towards the dashboard, then the mat obscures the accellerator.

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it?

I bought some Mat-Lock plastic things which you're supposed to screw into the floor through the carpet, but the carpet is really thin and doesn't hold them. Drilling a hole would do it, but I'm not sure what's underneath the carpet so I don't want to start doing that!
