Drivers side window switches intermittent

Hi

The other day my windows would not go up or down from the drivers side switches. Today I realised the passenger switch works fine but I could not open from the drivers side either of the windows. I thought maybe the switches were broken so swapped them to the passenger door to test them and they worked fine on that side.

Then they started working again after a spin in the car this afternoon, but then I stopped popped back out and they will not work again[][][]

Has anyone else had an intermittent switch issue like this.
I have tried a different Relay aswell and this does not help.

Any ideas where I could start tracing this problem

Cheers

Hi Lee

I would check for a bad wire in the rubber boot that goes from the door to the car, sounds like a break there that may move and make contact as you open and close the door.

I had a dodgy switch which would work only when you'd used it a few time. They're pretty easy to take apart and clean, just don't loose the litte ball bearing/spring inside.

Contacts need cleaning, come round and I will do them for you...........you will have to do any leg work[]

Hmm, sounds very dodgy to me... Tell you what, I'll help you out and buy the car off you for £1500 and you can then go and buy a more powerful 'Beetle' instead...!! [;)][:D][:D]
