driving comfort mods

I have only driven a couple of hundred miles in my 79auto and already I am aware of several aspects of driver comfort and ergonomics which could do with improvement. I am 5'11" and cannot get the seat back far enough for comfort although I guess it should be possible to move the seat runners back ?
Also there is no support for my arms .I'd be interested to hear from other 928 drivers how they actually hold the wheel when cruising. I tend to hold the wheel low with thumb and first finger of my right hand most of the time (very lazy) I like to be able to rest my arms on the door rest and the centre console. I can do neither in my car.
Has anyone done any mods to improve the centre console arrangement? maybe a storage bin with cup holders and arm rest would fit from another car. Lets face it the cassette holder is about as much use as ti**s on a.....

the metal bars that the seat runners run in have multiple holes so you should be able to move them back

The lid of the glove pocket in the doors is designed to swing in so you can rest your arm on it. of course, if you break it then it is not so easy to find the parts to fix it.

yes the arm rest on the door is really neat. I was quite pleasantly surprised when I discovered that by accident the other day on a quick run down for an MOT.
The trouble is I am nearly 6`.0" tall so my arms are about 3" above the rests even when holding the wheel at the lowest point.!

I have found a really excellent foldable arm rest which folds up between the seats and have ordered one. I'll post some pictures when I have fitted and tested it.

My GTS seat actually goes too far back for me and I am 6'3". One of the previous owners fitted an extension to the casette box on the transmission tunnel so it is about 3" higher than usual. It is ideal for resting your arm on when changing gear in traffic. Not so sure about the door lid trick, the lid looks a little too fragile for that.
