Driving & Fog Lamps

Hi,

Can anyone give me the Bosch part numbers for the grey plastic mounting buckets that hold the lens assembly for these lamps.

Does anyone have any good spares they would like to sell, no broken screws or stripped inserts please.

Not available seprately. You have to be DEAD lucky to find them used even. You can of course buy a complete unit new, and then try to sell the lenses to our collonial friends! [;)]

If you'd have asked for PN's LAST weekend, I'd have had them infront of me. They're back on the car now though!

951.631.211.00 is the nearside. Sorry my offside is gone.

The nearside I have has the outer lugs sheared off. I didn't know until I took it out as the lamp was held in perfectly with mastic.

Those boxes are VERY expensive. Start looking for a Turbo or S2 that got rear ended or T-Boned. Otherwise open your wallet real wide, bend over and bite on a bullet. This used problem is not made any easier due to all the old housings that have the brass bosses striped out.

Fen, is there a Bosch number on there too? They are right round the corner from me, so I may go and talk to someone nicely on Monday.

Just a reminder -if you drive on fog lights in visiblity not less than 100m, you risk being stopped for Due Care and Consideration, if the fog lights are below the level of the bumper -so where does this leave the 944????

Must admit, I used to use them to save popping the lights up. They were certainly brighter than the fog lights on a subsequent 964 C4!!

Very true, mine have a couple of the brass bosses stripped (use self tappers to keep them in now) look around for ages to get them at a decent price, best i think i ever saw them for was £140 each!!!!!

Wow that about the most off topic post ever, top marks. Maybe read the other threads in the post first might give an indication of the topic!!!

Hi Guys (& Helen)

Thanks for your help, it is the stripped inserts/broken screws & held in with mastic problem that I have. I've already bought new lenses as one of mine is cracked & the other is discoloured.

I had to replace one of the grey buckets (and the lamp [&o]) on mine after my O/S lamp fell out on the way to work one day! It's a universal design that rotates 180deg to fit both sides.

Mine cost me somewhere between £30 and £65 (mint cond S/H), can't remember the exact price because it was part of a long list. It was from Richard @ Club Autosport anyway; he's probably got a couple on the shelf at the mo. 01384 410879

The grey plastic "buckets" that the fog/driving light lenses mount into.

Any body interested in a group buy, I can collect & save on the shipping at least.

Did anybody purchase some of these.???
Just wanted to know the quality of them.????

Any "feedback".?????

Dave I was going to purchase a pair but then I got rearended by a muppet in a Madaz 6 & my Turbo got written off.

One had a hole through the glass & the other reflector was looking a bit dull. But I've still got the brand new lenses I picked up for just over £70 each. Once the bank balence recovers from Brands & 2 WOTYs in September I will buy the new backings & swap out the lamps on the Cab.
