Driving in Europe - Headlights

Hi,

I will be driving into Europe tomorrow and decided to adjust my headlights accordingly last night.

The manual says remove the lights and switch the position from "O" to "T". This should adjust the beam angle for right hand side driving in Europe. Then when return to the UK, switch back from "T" to "O".

... so did this on the nearside headlight and all was well. When I went to the offside headlight it may have already been in the "T" position ... the switch did not move and so went back and forth so may times that I dont actually know where it was in the 1st place. [8|]

I assume that in the UK, then both headlights should be in the same "O" position and in Europe they should both be in the "T" position? This seems to make logical sense in terms of steering the headlight beams in the same direction. but just want clarification from someone else that has done this. [:)]

Thanks, Jason

Richard, when I read my manual (996 facelift) I understood that all lights could be adjusted, and not only "litronic" versions. I will have to take another look in detail.

Cheers, Jason

Well b*gger me ... I thought I was doing the right thing by adjusting my headlights for European driving and it made no difference.[:)]

You were right Richard. The diagram in the handbook shows the litronic headlight and that is it. I had been looking at bulb replacements, etc and how to pull out the headlight. When I saw the beam adjustment I assumed it worked on all versions.

Something else I have now have knowledge of .....[8|]

I will have to do this shortly for LM weekend and I was thinking that all I needed to do was stand in the garage and fiddle about with a ruler to ascertain where to blank out the light to get a flat beam - then draw line on headlight and apply mask/tape or whatever. Is it actually any more complicated than this - this was the sole effect when switching the 993 headlights over and it seemed to work OK
