Driving to spain

Hi Guys just needed some advise I will most probably be driving to spain torrevieja next week and wonder if anyone has any advise ie preperation for the car prior to leaving. I also wanted to know if the sea air will affect the paintwork

Last time I drove to Spain petrol was MUCH cheaper just over the Border from France so run the tank down before crossing the Border. Roads are good, towns can be slow/busy but not oppressive to drive around. Don't imagine the sea air any different from ours. Just don't park on the sea front and get sand blasted. Enjoy

As well as the usual car checks, tyres, oil, water you will also need the following;
Adjust the headlights or apply tape/stickers to the lenses to block the beam,
Carry in the car First aid kit, warning triangle and spare bulb kit.
In Spain you need 2 high visibility jackets and if you wear glasses a spare pair.
Euros for toll roads and speeding fines in France - payable on the spot
Lots of energy drinks.
It should take about 18hours of driving. Are you stopping overnight or going for the non-stop marathon?

Rgds,

Kevin

I just got back from visiting my buddy who lives in that part of Spain (didn't drive) and one thing I noticed but don't know if it applies to visiting vehicles is that there needs to be, by regulation, a reflective jacket in the car so the driver (or person fixing any roadside breakdown) can be seen.

I know Scouser recently did the journey so I guess he would know all the things you need.
