Driving too slowly

I filled up the car today (09 Carrera 2 PDK) and the fuel computer said I had 515 miles range. Odd, it's usually about 360.

So I checked the trip computer. It said during a 2 hour 23 minute drive, 135 miles long on busy motorways and dual carriageways from Cosford to Duxford, at an average speed of 59mph I was doing 38.6mpg! Without trying, just cruising along.

That economy is amazing. Better than my diesel Audi 2.7 A6. In fact better than any car I've ever had.

I haven't done the sums myself so these are the car's figures and not verified, but nearly 40mpg in a 911? Anybody doing better? The car has done 17,000 miles old and is on winter tyres.

I'm also a little bit ashamed to talk mpg though.

I think the computer roughly works it out on the current usage...
I've had the remaining distance left go up whilst travelling!! [&:]

I've never got anywhere near 40mpg - I'm pleased to say [;)]

Hi Max. The official MPG for your car (Carrera 3.6 with the PDK 'box) is 40.4 mpg extra urban, so it's pretty much spot on I'd say! Nice one! I recon if you really tried you could get well in to the mid 40's with that car! But of course that's boring, isn't it?!

Adrian.
