DRL Relay - Anyone Installed One?

On the auxillary fuse board at the left of the glove box is a space for a G26 relay for DRL's Canada - there's a thread on Pelican Parts forum where a Norwegian guy with a US spec car just installed the relay and had the DRL's he needed for Norway, so maybe the wiring is there already. I believe only 90 968's went to Canada, Porsche would harly do a wiring loom specific to so few cars, so I'm hopeful that the wiring is already in place!

Has anyone tried this? I'm not sure what lights come on as DRL's.

If you get on your back on the passenger floor and have a look up under the dash you can see this little expansion board/holder bit next to the fuse box. I believe this is what is being talked about and from memory there is wiring in place to a relay position that was empty on my car. Worth having a quick look before buying the relay.

I think you mean next to the glove box -that's the additional fuse board that holds fuses 41 (or maybe 42) upward, which includes the fuse for the electric wing mirrors on my cabrio and the places for a few relays - the "bong" relay that so annoyed me, the DRL relay for Canada, a foglight relay for (I think) japan. This thread on Pelican Parts - post 5 - refers to it, I've emailed Pelicanparts to see if they can put me in touch with the poster.

i worked about a year ago with a Japan import 968 cab. Altough Japan model it was LHD car, like most of the older Porsches in Japan. It has all wiring available in additional fuse/relay box under dash for DRL (driver side, passanger to you)

The guy from Pelican Parts was a big help - not!! Wanted me to register on his forum then PM the guy in Norway - despite me saying I did not want to register on a forum I would not use! I'm not that bothered, a fellow 968 owner on Isle of Wight will help once the weather improves. Like me, he has to work on his car on the driveway not in a warm garage, so we're both waiting for better temperatures!
