dubai track day

Happy new year guys, and gals!
Me and my Dad managed to get some time out over the festive period to get the cars down to the track here in Dubai and give them a sound work out. It was an open day on the National circuit which was cool as its a section of the track that ive never had the pleasure of doing. Bad side of things though was that it was very dirty and dusty (kinda obvious considering) in places and made the car feel like it was on marbles....ours are the yellow 993rs and the red 964rs! ..well that and the crap tyres that need to make way for some pilot sports asap.
Anyway enjoy the pics....care of a fellow petrol head here in dubai! He does drive a porsche but on the track would you believe he thrashes a Gallardo.... some folk are crazy cool 8)

A bit harsh John!! But I think they should have their own sessions.....

Thanx for sharing pix nineonetoo!

<thinks: Get Cup Car to Dubai for next Chrsitmas -fly down....>

nineonetoo - nice pics mate, keep posting them.

OT when is the best time to go to Dubai for a short trip (without car but with missus) - weather wise?

The best time is anytime outside of may to september really! Its ok during that time but it does get a bit hot and humid. However you will spend most of your time in an aircon environment so its ok to be fair even during the summer....

We did take the 964rs on the track during an August track day and yes I did loose weight during the session....sweated like a beatch.

Come on down Melv...would be great to have you help out in the dubai Judgement day proceedings....there are only my two old girls and one 3.6 turbo ( heavily modified) that come out to play! All the others are mark1 and 2 GT3's Carrera GT's and loads of caymans etc etc

coming to dubai for 1 week at the end of the month. Not bringing the 64rs but the other 'other beast'... give you a clue: it has two legs, it does not have 4 wheels...[:)]

More seriously, my friend living there tells me that it is amazing car-wise. I can' t wait. Used to leave in Saudi Arabia a few years and it was surreal to see how much petrol heads these guys were... Although apparently not many know the meaning of the word 'taste'.

Email me if you fancy hooking up and saying hi. nineonetoo@aol.com
