I dont know whether its me of what but driving back from the ace Tuesday I noticed on sharp deceleration/downshift the car dips/hunts to the front offisde.....and on sharp acceleration lifts/hunts to the front nearside.......I have variously lightened and tightened my grip on the steering wheel and the problem is intermittent...sometimes I feel the pull on decel. even though I grip tightly sometimes having let go of the steering wheel I get dead straight response on both decel and accel?

anyone had this and subsequently diagnosed a cause and repair.....or is it just me?

sounds like your describing tramlining which most RS's do to some extent. Some set up's seem to cope with it better than others.

Jim
Check your tyre rear pressures, any more than 3psi diff side to side will cause this.

Allan

Laurence, yes tramlining I am familiar with in the old bird but this seemed a little more distinct and more improtantly consistent....but I'm not ruling it out thx.

Alan......your diagnosis starting with rear end is v.valid my now having spoken to a pro....many thx.....

I'll keep you posted Melv...thks for the offer...mind you the clio's a laugh in the snow....mini monte type gig.

Alan btw...your diagnosis was spot on....slow rear right puncture.....many thks

Ask Kiwi Jiff abt punctures at Spa ...............only about 150mph plus!!!!!!Damn foreigners spreading very sharp flints everywhere and no sweeping up........................

Jimbo

Are you going to get the puncture sorted before Sunday or is it slow enough not to worry about? Weather forecast seems to be flipping between sunny, rain, snow and everything else (I saw fog on there).

Currently the out look is sunny [:)][:)]

Looking forward to it!!

F'oz....cars been at Jaz today......initially to cure the duckin & divin....but once correctly diagnosed by Alan....they repaired the puncture and fixed my tail light....what a nice bunch of folk....I'll definately be using them in future....very convinient for Woolies.

All sorted for Sunday...come hell or high water...as you say the forecast is fine as at now!

do we know whether the Melbourne Loop is in?

Do you have a "trackday" checklist....right now I need a load lugger and a towing bracket.....![8D]

and according to the info there's tyre support if the worst comes to the worst...that is if I don't blow out through craners![X(]

Sorry jimbers, head went woolly forgot all about the more usual prob. Even had this myself when i had a slow puncture coming home from I.O.M. in defense that was a long long time ago.

hey LG, no need whatever to apologise....all input is gratefully rec'd.....and I fall into the category of....unless its written on my forhead...I'll forget! thx again!
