Thought I would post maybe of help to others.I thought my battery was on way out with sudden cold weather, slow turning over low amps , would not hold charge, but problem was a new glove box bulb and not switching off when glovebox closed.Saved me a few £ !

Not uncommon. If it happens again a current tester from eBay (replaces a blade fuse) can save hours of frustration.

Im glad youve posted as I could do with a guide price for refreshing a pair of small leather seats out of my MX-5. Theyre nothing like as bad as 944 seats get, but my girlfriend thinks that theyre 'tatty' now...

That has happened before...... I think Mr.McNulters had this bother and it was caused by a duff hing on the glove box !

I have an ammeter I got off maplins for this job and its a great help...

On another note and off topic I was drafted in to help with a troubleshooting job on a 03 Cayenne V8 in Daves that the fellas were stumped with... It would go off random cyclinders if it was raining. Usual stuff sensors and leads and various stuff was changed .. Problem still occurred... If the weather was nice no problem ! I thought about it and took at a look at the ECU in the passenger side kick panel... Water was getting in somewhere and wetting the ECU... But where...? I seen a pipe close to the bottom of the screen pillar ... I followed the pipe back and there it was ... The rear screen wash pipe just wasnt seated correctly on one of the unions dripping water when the wash was operated.......!.... Always gather the evidence and think .. Dont make random assumptions !

Now will I post this little finding in the Cayenne section or keep it to ourselves [:D]

Thanks Nick. I'll post a picture here, as Im not sure that the address youve given me was correct.

Ok Simon , had a good view under zoom and to do a proper job would need seats out.Clean , strip off old surface finish/sealant, rub done certain areas where surface cracking starting, alcohol wash. re-dye , apply finish, and touch in piping. Cost wise I would gestimate £100/seat ,may seem high but contrasting colour piping means careful masking off which is time consuming.
Will check info@leatherupholsterycare.co.uk should be working.

Cheers

Its not a bad price Nick, although Im probably going to have to put the refurb on hold, as Ive just committed to buying an engine.
