Guys
Will require new rubber soon and cant find the post with details of where to get the Dunlop SSR tyres at good price!!
Can anyone provide details?

regards

Boydy

PS got the race car back after 4 months and parked in garage, arranged the remap and geometry set up at 9M for today pre SPA, as fuel delivery issue, I was told, was now rectified!
Guess what it left at 3PM today on back of breakdown truck as it wouldnt start last night.
Suspect speed sensor at fly wheel.............probably original fault.
Hopefully it will be ready for SPA or the 964RS will have to be order of the day

Dan at Mr Tyre Motorsport.............0121 359 6625
Saw him at Silverstone yesterday ...............new shipment due tomorrow, same cheap prices ................CU at Spa

Or go direct to Dunlop Motorsport. (use Google) as they distribute to all and sundry anyway.....

I spoke to Dunlop and they ask you to use Mr Tyre Motorsport. No harm in that, the tyres are only £100 each-ish and only £4 each for delivery.

Would be interested to hear what sizes you go for and how you get on with them. I have heard great feedback on the tyres and prices are excellent, just couldn't find the right sizes for the RS.

Yoda,
You're right about the sizes, they're not exact like for like, but close enough IMHO. I opted for 215/45/17 (£86+VAT) and 245/40/17 (£101+VAT). They are a close enough match so as not to confuse the ABS (i.e. within 6%), but overall they are a marginally smaller rolling diameter than standard, so there is a small gearing effect and the speedo will over-read by a few mph (good for license preservation !). On the negative side i did wonder whether the shorter sidewalls would lead to a more uncomfortable ride, and whether going for a relatively wider front tyre and narrower rear might upset the handling balance and create excessive oversteer. I have only had the SSRs on for a week and have only one trackday on them, but results so far - the grip is extremely impressive, I really struggled to get them to unstick themselves. On the downside they are really noisy, noticeably more so on motorways than my old P Zeros, and the ride does seem a little more harsh, but that could just be my imagination.
Overall given the price I think they are definitely a worthwhile experiment. The next test will be to see how they stand up to longer term use and abuse.

Wish they did them in 15's at that price []

Just got my Formula R's from Dunlop Motorsport direct, so don't understand the "use Mr Tyre Motosport" statement either?

Would be very interested to hear how you find the SSRs once you have had them for a while, you can tell me all about them on the way to SPA. I have a new set of MPSCs to go my car which are great in the dry but pants in the wet. Also pretty expensive for 5mm tread but seem to be lasting well (I can't seem to wear the current set below 2mm no matter how hard I try, I thought they would be finished last year).

Will proably try the Dunlops or Pirellis next time around.
