Cosidering the morning's weather, it was a very good turn out with members coming from E. midlands, Lincs, Cambs, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. I think Porsches made the greatest number on display, putting Ferarri to shame; even then, the nice Dino on display belongs to an R11 member, which just go to show that Porsche people use their cars. With the rain clearing, it was nice to hear the Merlin engine in the Spitfire that did a low level run for us - all very evocative, although of course I'm much too young to remember those early years of the airfield.

Many thanks for letting Larry and i gatecrash this event, we had a fantastic day, what great value for money too, there was so much to see.
journey home was exciting aquaplaning most of the way up the M1 [&:] but, arrived home without incident, thank-goodness the 914 is such a well balanced car.
