DVD Head Unit Upgrade

I have checked it out.

What exactly was I meant to be looking for ???

It looks like the standard new DVD screen in the current Models.

Actually its not the PCM at all.

It is an aftermarket DVD + Navigation + iPod + Bluetooth + SD card + mini-USB unit

Well it still looks like the Current set up and does the same as the current Head unit.

Is this an aftermarket relacement for old vehicles ?

If you check ACAPNZ's details - and go to his homepage, you'll find this:

There is a good write up on caymanclub.net about installing aftermarket head units and amplifiers to MOST equipped vehicles. The cayenne uses the same PCM 2.1 unit as the 911 / Boxster/ Cayman apart from the unit in the cayenne has the added capabilities of a TV tuner. I beleive the new PCM 3 is the same across the model range. Pioneer and Kenwwod seem to be the favourite units to retro fit in place of the PCM. These give all the benefits of DVD playback, MP3 capability , Navigation and Bluetooth as standard.

Right, but is there a box that can drive the MOST interface Bose amps? Rewiring the car seems most undesirable. Also a shame to lose the menus that let you see mpg and control various car options...
