Dyno Day II for SHU

Having had a fairly sh!te week (mostly due to eBay deals going t!ts up), it was a blessed relief to get to Weltmeister at Silverstone today for a Dyno Day organised by Yoda from the 964RS register (how much do I love those cars).

Last time out, SHU managed 195bhp on the rollers at Jamsport, but there was a question mark over their readings, so that run was deemed inconclusive - though fun nonetheless. This time round there were going to be no excuses.

The Dyno Dynamics set-up at Weltmeister is on the button, so I was pretty excited about a: seeing some cool cars running and b: finding out what the baseline was before I started ripping bits off. Having seen what everyone else's car was putting out, I knew I'd be lowest of the day but no probs, love my car and am not obsessed with the numbers. So when my turn came, I sat in with Chris on the rollers and it was quite impressive watching him getting the inlet temp down as much as he could and then building up to three good runs.

Sum total was that SHU is in very rude health as regards power - 207bhp at the flywheel, 3 brake up on standard! Not bad considering the car still runs the original cat with that 6-into-1 exhaust and the air con too. Bring on some new SSI's when I eventually get this supposed refund from Porsch-apart and watch that climb to 230 with a bit of luck [8D]

but as we speak the FIA have launched an inquiry into the JDG run SC breaking the 200 bhp barrier...

..... but rumours of a hidden moon shine tank were rife amongst those at Weltmeister

although the bloke in the burger van was unavailable for comment about the catering that was supplied to JDG just before the SC had it's run.....
