Well, after spending quite a bit of time fiddling with engine components and working on the tune I finally went to the rollers today.

Have to say that is more or less what I expected - it's neither a torque monster nor a peaky beast but a reasonably good compromise between the two, and the car is really nice and easy to drive [:)]

Very nice numbers [8D]. So is this now a finished project Thom? [;)] One question. Why is there such a big increase in the midrange figures between the 3rd and 4th run? At 3500rpm there is 70 bhp and 130Nm extra

The blue run was in 4th gear, the red one in 3rd. And no, this kind of project never ends, but at least the expensive and painful aspects are now thankfully well behind. It's now all about tuning fun and enjoying a car that has never been so easy to use. In fact the next mod is a larger turbine housing to compensate for the slightly falling torque curve past 6000 rpm, as I see back pressure slightly increasing past this engine speed. If this could net another 20hp up top that would be nice. All for the sake of science [;)]

Very good TTM, for the sake of Science, whats a 6th gear pull on the road feel like [8D] all the way to 6500 [:)] Interesting to hear your engine is flexible and easy to drive - well done, thx for posting George 944t

Hi George, I have had it to 285kph according to sat nav but never had enough room to push it further. Those German Autobahns are busy places.

Had that been in the UK you still would have had white van man right behind you.

Well, this is a positive aspect of being able to be in a suited driving environment every once in a while. If this is not obvious to anyone already, you don't use that kind of power unless all safety conditions are maximised. If I ever intend to deliberately reach its max speed I will definitely look out for some airfield with a suitably long straight. Spent too much of myself in this project to risk putting anyone's life in danger and bringing it to an unpleasant & abrupt end.
