dyno/rolling road?

Hello all,

I want to get my engine output checked but I am drawing a blank on dyno garages in Berkshire that can take a 4-wheel drive car...

Anyone got any good recommendations? I live near Wokingham....

Thanks in advance!

Mark

Mark,
When the 993 register did a trip to Ninemiester in Warrington for a dyno day about a year ago, it seemed that standard practise was to disconnect the drive shaft to the front wheels (there were maybe half a dozen of us with C4s, C4Ss, or TTs who's cars had to be popped on the ramp before/after our dyno runs for a 2 minute unclip/reclip of the drive shaft. It's a simple collar that slides to disconnect.

I seem to recall, a couple of year ago, going to Porsche UK/AFN (M4 J12) on one of their open days and they ran up a TT on a dyno. Not sure if the dyno was in the Porsche UK or AFN (now Porsche Centre Reading) part of the building or, of course, whether they had disconnected the front wheel drive. Worth a call though?

Kind regards
Anton

Disconnecting the front prop shaft is so simple and the risk created by not doing is great - IMHO it's the proverbial no-brainer.

ok - thanks guys for the info....

So, looks like a 2 wheel drive dyno is fine. Next question is a reputable place near me? Does anyone know if a place that is used to handling porsche, especially 993?? Happy to go within 30 miles of Wokingham so a recommendation would be great!

cheers,

Mark

Ask Ray Northway's, the local indy, they'd probably know who could help. (0118 971 4333).

Anton
