I've just arrived home from the Bob Watson Power Run meeting organised via DDK. A great day out in good weather with an enthusiastic bunch of guys to talk Porsches with.

Youtube video of my car doing it's run and spitting a few flames at around 1.32... turn your volume to 11 for the full effect.

296bhp max recorded today - which is generous and it's actually more like 283-5bhp allowing for adjustments and 340Nm of torque.

De-cat, Cargraphic twin outlet rear pipe & G-pipe. [:D]

It was quite an eye-opener standing behind it at full chat. I could feel the noise in my lungs. [&:][:D]

Nice one Rich .... nice to see it's still spot on 283.2BHP as it was Dyno'd at JZM several years back with some good torque ...... So you are running NO end silencer with a G-Pipe awesome?

Question is with no back pressure does this have any impact on the engine stress or small loss BHP?

It's exactly how the car came from you Des. I haven't changed the exhaust set-up at all. Bob Watson remembered the car from Mike Bradley's ownership when it had some top-end work done 10 years ago.

nice one,mine made 289 bhp and 350 nm,with 95 octane fuel

Octane doesn't increase power though, it only increases the fuel's resistance to detonation, allowing the use of higher compression ratios. Engine modifications that increase power may require the use of higher octane fuel but the fuel itself won't increase power simply from being a higher octane. The only way you get more power is by burning more fuel. That means getting more fuel/air mix through the engine by improving breathing and burning it efficiently.

Racing fuels may increase power because they contain more energy in more volatile components with different combustion properties. For example, we used to run a Corvette on Sunaco GT fuel, which gave as much as 50bhp more than pump fuel, but at a cost of nearly £4 a litre! Its octane rating however was only the same as the Super Unleaded you buy on any forecourt.
