As discussed briefly at last night's club night. The EWOTY, or European weekend of the year is slowly taking shape. Unfortunately due to work commitments I haven't spent as much time on this as I would like. The proposal is to drive to the Spa classic in May. The plan so far is to leave the North East on Thursday the 21/05/2015 and drive to Hull for the 7.00pm sailing of the overnight crossing to Zeebrugge. (cabins to be booked separately at a cost of £65.00)

On arrival at 7.00am Friday morning we will be taking a leisurely drive across Belgium to our planned hotel near Spa. This again I am told will be roughly a 3 hour drive and we could take in some sights or stop for some refreshments on the way depending on what the group would rather do.

Bookings and info for this trip can be found at http://www.traveldestinations.co.uk/historic-motor-racing/spa-classic/hotel-options/hotel-verviers/

I have discussed the best alternatives for the hotel and travel and this is the recommendations they have made to us.
This trip will take some planning and we would appreciate if any members interested in going on an R3 adventure can you please indicate on the forum if this is a good idea or not, even if it's just to give us an idea of cars and numbers, or even interest in this event?

The costs involved for ferry (excluding cabin) hotel (B&B) and tickets to the race weekend with circuit hospitality is, £399.00 per person as shown on the Travel Destinations web site.

For those who also would like to drive the circuit options and prices are also available whilst at the Spa weekend again prices are shown on the website.

I appreciate that May is not that far away and if we are going to do this we really need to look at getting booked sooner rather than later as places will fill up fast I expect.

No problem, be interesting to see how many numbers we can get prior to making the booking Moira. Fingers crossed.

I should just add we are getting the ferry on Wednesday the 20th if any one wants to join us a day earlier on that crossing ?

Deffo the blokes [:D] , although for the 1st time ever, The ladies choice yellow car isn't making the trip ..... I'll be In something a lot more sensible [:(]
