Hi all is anyone interested in having there car in a magazine
Just received this

Dear tipec,
Sorry for my slightly random approach to emailing a few of you, but I'm after a 1967-'73(ish) 911E, L or T for a photoshoot for Classic Cars magazine. We're doing a three-way comparison with a Triumph TR5 and an Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV.
"All three came out around 1967, and offered three very different driving experiences then and now - which is for you?" Or that's the general idea.
The shoot will be in Wales, which is the tricky bit - we'll be centred on the countryside near Llyn Brianne, off the A40 north of Llandovery. We're aiming for Monday 20th October, but it could well be the end of that week on the Friday, or the Monday following (Oct 27th). The date will be finalised as we discover who is available when.
Please pass on this email and my contact details to anyone you think could help. Early 911s are pretty scarce outside the South East, I know, but any thoughts would be appreciated. I work from home so I'd be glad to hear from anyone during the day or evening. We'll pay fuel and food expenses on the day of the shoot, and we'll include thanks and contact details for the club in the article. It should be fun!
Best regards,

That'll be fun. You might get lucky with the weather too.

Make sure the 911 wins judges vote. No comparison between the 911 and the others IMO so hopefully they'll come to the same conclusion.

Ian.

I will try :)

I have the rest of the week to fettle it!

I've just had the fan off and painted it all up which has transformed the engine bay cosmetically. I don't really do polishing normally, and certainly not engine bays!

However looking at a typical shoot they always do an engine bay shot, so in seemed appropriate to tart it up enough to avoid embarrasing myself.

The car comparision is interesting, I think may a SWB 2.0 would have been a better match in terms of vintage, but hey it should be a good day!

...however my well intentioned fan polishing have resulted in the alternator light being on...

I knew I should leave it alone! It's coming apart again tonight to check what I have screwed up.

Still, I have two batteries and RAC membership. I'll be there one way or another!

A great day out in the Welsh 'mist' (lashing rain and cloud)

Be great to see the end results [:)]
