Can somebody please tell me what in earth is going on????

Phil i'll PM you the answer seems my posts are being heavily moderated on the forum.or dissapearing altogeather [:(]

the jobs of R/O is free Phil do you want it..

all applications too bob Lovelace contact regional@porscheclubgb.com

So why exactly have all the region posts been deleted?

I appreciate and sympathise with what you are saying Helen and to take the R/O job away from someone who seems at least dedicated to putting their own time and effort into the good of a region appears a bizzare move. But why have all the posts been deleted? What about members who are relying on this information for their forthcoming region meeting/activities?

This smacks a bit of "toys out the pram" and is not going to benefit you, the region or probably Larry. Have you spoken to Bob, or has Larry? Maybe this is something which should not be taking place in the public domain...

I am sorry to say that having seen the section on page 64 of this months PP, I am dissillisioned and to be honest confused about this whole thing.

When Mark stepped down as R/O, I was disappointed as I could not see where the region was going and having just bought my first Porsche, it was like being given a sweet as a kid and then just as I was about to eat it, having it taken away.

It was a very short time afterwards that I pleased to hear about a LADY called Helen Goff taking the reigns. Not an easy job by any means. Helen has put a great deal into running the region for the last year and I take my hat off to her.

I have read with complete amazement about Larry "stepping down" as R/O. Having attended most of the regions meetings over the last year (and actually chairing one in Helens absence), I can say that Larry attended as a member and didn't chair the meetings at all.

So why, when Larry has mentioned that he is stopping "helping" Helen, has there been an invitation for other people to come forward if they "would like to face up to this challenge"?

I feel that we have had somebody who has done a fantastic job over the last year as R/O and feel extremely saddenned that now Region 8 does not have an R/O due to lack of communication and perhaps, dare I say a little insensitivity.

I am a moderator on this forum and so has Helen been, but I now see that she is listed as a "non member". Helen has earnt the title of "Mrs PCGB Forum" due to the amount of postings she has done. She cares and in this day and age, that means alot.

I feel that we are an organisation for enthusiasts, run by enthusiasts. I think sometimes we may lose sight of this. We are after all, just people with a common cause, driving a car that gives us probably the biggest grin that is achievable.

I think what I am trying to say is that I am very disappointed about this whole episode.

I hope this post does not get pulled! I am sorry, but I really felt this was neccessary to put my thoughts on here. I know that I will not be alone in my thoughts.

I agree entirely Phil. This is a mess and needs resolving. Hopefully those involved will all resolve this 'behind the scenes' and quickly, for the good of all 'enthusiasts' and not for politics and procedure.

Jason the only posts in these sections where advertising events that will not be taking place unless someone else takes over the reins of region 8...as i said(above but its been deleted) i see no point in having an advert on here for events that are very unlikely to take place.

region 9 only had one post in it advertising an even that i organised as a joint event with the now none functioning region 8.

IF SOMEONE WANTS TO WORK WITH BOB LOVELACE ON RUNNING THIS REGION IM HAPPY TO PASS ON ALL INFORMATION SO THEY CAN CARRY ON>

what happened:
Helen resigned as RO; Helen deleted the posts; Helen used the 'permanent delete' option so the posts cannot be recoverd.

What a waist of a true enthusiasts time and effort but whatever happens in the long run unless we stop airing our dirty laundry in public we won't attract new members via this closed forum. DDK has a lot to offer the Porsche enthusiast and we should bear that in mind.

[;)]im still here i've just had a bit of a set back i'll be back. im just biding my time and awaiting the right moment to pounce[;)][:D]

If that is the case, why would anyone expect to come back, maybe it is timely for someone else to take the reigns. Toys out of pram again has been stated, if that is correct then members are the main casualties which in turn is totally unacceptable. The players here seem to forget the golden rule of PCGB and that is, It is first and foremost a car club by the members for the members. Maybe a committee would prevent a Region from revolving around one individual and would then carry on even if one person was missing for whatever reason. Andy.
