Early 911 door handles

Whilst on holiday in the 2.4S recently including driving the Stelvio, my drivers door handle trigger broke off leaving me having to get in via the passenger door. Has anyone got a useable chrome door handle for sale or is the only way to use the aftermarket door handles and do they fit and work OK ? Incidentally you have to drive the Stelvio at some time in your lives, it is amazing, much better than any track day.

Hi Robin,

The aftermarket handles are based on the 3.2 design and the components are not interchangeable with your early handles. I will have look and see if I have a spare for you, are you looking for perfection? I did Stelvio on a motorbike several years ago, and it's certainly a mustdo, but there are quite a few better driving passes IMO

Thanks for your reply Nick, if you have ever seen my 2.4S you will know I am not a perfectionist but I would like to be able to get into the car from the drivers side (LHD) using the outer door handle rather than relying on getting in using the passenger door and opening the drivers door from inside. I am worried that the passenger door, which is the same age, ie 40 years old, may do the same thing as the drivers door trigger, then how will I get into the car?
Regarding the Stelvio, I thought it was one of the better mountain hills that I have driven, for hairpin bends. We were amazed at the number of other vehicles that use it including bicycles whose riders received a round of applause from everyone at the top for each rider that reached the top. Incidentally we departed from the area on a friday just before there was a Tractor Rally going up the hill, some of which we met towing trailers behind the tractors, all with a maximum speed of under 20 mph !
