early 924 with aircon ?

we have just dismantled a 1978 924 which oddly enough had aircon ? i presume it to be an original item as the bottom pully wheel has two wheels on it and it the car had two radiators , the pump system bolted to the engine perfect , and the car has/had twin fans , the centre console was missing the volt gauge and had the aircon switch in its place , the wiring loom looks completely original , was aircon a common extra on such an early car , or a customer specification addon etc ,,,, we have stripped it out now and should anyone require any parts from it let us know , ,, the car has loads of good bits and the engine ran fine , shame the shell was so badly corroded as it would have been perfect for racing , no sunroof ...

Aircon was an option, the owners manual informs us that the voltmeter is deleted with aircon, and the aircon switch is fitted in its place.

I'm not a 924 owner but I scour the ads a lot :) I think aircon is a very rare option on these cars. Can't ever remember reading of one advertised with it installed, but I'm sure someone will be along to correct me shortly!
