Early dash cover

I have purchased 2 of these.
Understand
(1) It will cover the front speaker grill.
(2) While good, the finish is not perfect. If you are picky don't buy one.
(3) They claim that you just drop them over the old dash and that you don't need to fix them .... Rubbish. They would jump all over the place as you drive. They suggest 2 sided tape... it doesn't work. I fixed mine with a small self tapping screw at each end.
Overall they are fine and in the case of my 924 Turbo I am able to attach things to the dash board that I wouldn't do to an original dash.

I often wonder if a plain piece of black felt or alcantara that was cut or sewn to shape by someone handy with a needle would do a pretty decent job of covering a split dash. It would also help reduce the risk of cracks appearing as I think it is heat and direct sunlight that accelerates the process.
