Early litronics - how good?

I have been offered some litronics from a 2001 996 for about £400. I believe these are not the Bi-Xenon lights that came on later cars thought I'm no expert.
Are they likely to be significantly better than normal 996 lights (with Osram Slver Star bulbs) on dipped beam?

Thanks in advance[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

I have a 2001 996 with litronics and headlight cleaning system and they are great, can only compare with other cars i have had with normal headlights but i really notice the difference with these ones, if thats any help?

i had these fitted by camtune for about £450-they made a HUGE difference.however, the extra power needed kept causing the battery light to come onwhenever i put the headlights on ...despite taking back to camtune and jzmmaztech at kings langley noone could sort it-and jz(who were really helpful)concluded the extra power needed for the litronics needed more powerful battery. i ended up so frustrated i then sold the car and bought the new cayman!!-with bi-xenons specified at the factory!![:D]

I'm sure they'll be tons better - considering similar for mine before the winter. However, won't it be cheaper and quicker to fit an aftermarket gas discharge light system. Have read there are some cheap dodgy systems around on e-bay, but equally good quality systems from aceparts - the chap that runs aceparts chats on pistonheads quite often - think his kit is 175 all in.

I got the 'ultimate kit' from HIDS4u for £250. Fitted very well (according to Wrightune) and work like a charm!
