Early offset Fuchs 16s Tyre options

Morning guys I tried the search engine and it didn't really come up with what I was after.

Ok I've a set of early offset 16 inch Fuchs, my research says best option for tyres size wise is...

205 50 16 front

225 45 16 back

Firstly do we agree that's right and if so can anyone recommend a tyre that's still in production?

George pointed me to 'Camskill' when I was looking for my tyres, not only do they list all of the tyre's available that are approved by Porsche but they were very cheap too with very fast service. Look at the 'OE Porsche' section for your chosen size, Simon has already listed the correct sizes for the early offsets..

Brilliant many thanks.. I notice the Bridgestone SO2s are much cheaper than the other brands. I had these on my Subaru STI5 and Skyline GTR 33. Any views on them at all ?

I like them...seem a bit harder ride than my old Goodyear's , have plenty of grip...hold the bends very well...seem ok in the wet too but then I haven't pushed them yet.. they certainly look the part which is a + for me...:)

I have a set of nearly new Kumho Ecstasa Sport tyres in the correct size if you are interested, they came off my Fuch wheels propably done 1000 miles on the rears, fronts have about 6 mm no repairs.
PM me if interested.

Thread hijack, but has anyone tried running 225/50 tyres on 7J front rims? I fancy ditching the staggered setup and really I'd like a set of 8J (rear) teledials to go on the front too but locating another set of early offset 951 wheels is tricky!

I'll probably be going for AD08R's for my next set of rubbers, but then my car is used on road and track.

Porsche ran 7" rims with 225/50/16s on the 928S4 and the M758 and '89 Turbo which both used a similar wheel (all three were the same wheel actually). They only moved to a 7.5" rim when the 928GT Design 90s became available.

Id agree that four square 8"-225 is ideal.

Thanks Simon that's really useful. At least if I kill my current set of tyres before finding some more rims I know I can get away with those sizes.

Cheers
