East Midlands Dealership Info

Good afternoon,
After hunting around for a couple of months, I am now looking to purchase my first Porsche in March. As money is now tight at home (apparently), I have had to lower my budget from £40K to around £30K.

The car I am interested in is a silver '04 911 Carrera 4S, it is just shy of £30K. It looks beautiful and the dealer seems knowledgeable.

I just wondered if anyone in R8 knows the dealership or has any feedback before I part with my life savings! They are Benz-Bavarian of Duffield.

Hi Martin,

Don't have any stories about the dealer but I know of them and they have been there for a long long time.

Whats the mileage?

You are in 996TT territory with 30k these days!

Wherever you buy your car make sure you get another independant inspection and make sure you have a good warranty which covers the main seal as this seems to be a weak point and could be very expensive if it is faulty!

I must have driven past Benz-Bavarian about a thousand times, usually when I'm using the A6 to get up to Matlock. God only knows how many times I have almost rear-ended someone as I drooled at the Astons, Ferrari's and Porsches on their forecourt!

I decided to call in just after Christmas, big mistake! I had always promised myself my Porsche one day, so I was like a child in a sweetshop, they had four or five 911's in from just under £20,000 to around £40,000, all looked immaculate, but the silver 4S looked to be right on budget, I think it's done 50,000 miles and has obviously been really well looked after. The 4S was almost vetoed by senior management at home, so there is no way I will get away with the Turbo, you will get me hung, drawn and quartered just for suggesting it!

They do offer various warranty options so I will definitely look into taking out suitable cover. I notice that you post in R8, I would like to come along to one of the meetings when I have bought the car and have the time to get over and meet everyone. Who would I need to contact?

Personally i think its expensive with 50,000 miles.

There is a 997 on sale in the members for sale section which looks immaculate too and is under 30k and no doubt would take an offer.....food for thought?
