On the 27th February, the Beverley and District Motor Club are holding the East Riding Stages in Holdeness, Yorkshire's first closed road stage rally with 100 competitors coming from all over the UK.

We became aware of this event as it is due to proceed down the lane where we live, sadly we are only on a transit route, rather than a competitive stage.

Event details are still being released and as more information becomes available I will update this post. Below is a link to the entry list of competitors, sadly there are no snarling GT3's to wake up the neighbours [;)]

Further information on the East Riding Stages, we have not had a great response from R7 members to having a static display, Richard Vincent who is organising the club displays has sent these details.

Burton Constable Hall has space for approx 50 cars at the front of the Hall, so a great backdrop for photos. I would anticipate that we can attract other clubs, therefore I'm limiting space per club to 12 cars per club, this will undoubtedly change as we get closer to the rally and we know how many other clubs are to attend other than yourselves and The Outkast Crew.

All those wishing to attend would need to be in place no later than 08:00 as the road will be closed to the public at 08:20 to allow the marshals to set up the stage.

Spectators wishing to enter the Hall, rather than the Holiday Park are being changed a fee of approx £15-£20.00 (still to be confirmed) I would ask that a similar fee is collected and donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, (I'm asking the Outkast Crew to donate to Motor Neuron Disease.

I'm due a meeting with all parties involved with the spectator area on Friday 21st Jan. Hopefully I will be able to update you next week or so with any progress.

With 5 weeks or so to go, they have a full entry list of 100 competitors coming from Scotland, Wales and England. The response has been so fantastic that we had to disappoint a further 69 entries who did not make the ballot for the places available.

The rally has eight stages covering four routes, each run twice, I will attach the stages here.

We realise this requires the full day committed to the event, obviously that might not suit everyone but if you are interested please let me know so I can give Richard the details.
There has not been enough interest in the static displays at Burton Constable, hopefully if you are interested you will find somewhere spectacular to watch the event.
I know very few people were interested in attending the East Riding Stages but we had a fantastic day, the five of us from R7 enjoyed freezing our bits off for some rally action.

Sadly no Porsches were entered in the event although a 911 Turbo and Panamera were involved in the stage recce's.

It could have been a disaster but luckily it's pretty foolproof out of the box.

I am certainly over the moon with it's capabilities.
