ebay 944 with french looking speedo .....

If you compare it to the picture of the inside of the car, you can just see the speedo - and it's totally different. The one from the inside picture of the car has the small guage underneath where Turbo's have their Boost Guage (economy guage?). I'm also doubting the rest of the authenticity - D90's on a pre-ABS (alot of work for a £1K car) - also that mileage. That means the cars only done 2350 miles a year since new!!

That is a picture of the speedo from a different car.

I might be being dumb, but why is fitting D90s to a pre ABS car a lot of work? Don't they just bolt on?

I believe you need spacers. But that's all.

Yep, Speedo is from a PSA, I have had both at some point...

Looks like this is one to stay away from.

I wondered whay you meant by a French-looking speedo. I never considered you meant a speedo from a French manufacturer, but that's exactly what it is.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]In terms of D90's on a pre-ABS car it is just spacers, but really quite big ones that need longer wheel studs, hence the effort. This car is a 1986 though.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Definitely one to avoid.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

deffo leave alone .... there is a pug 205 in the background on one of the shots - I've emailed him as it may just be a mistake and he has 2 cars with 47k miles - who knows but I'd hate to scupper anyones auction.

Surely the biggest hint that he's made a mistake is that the speedo only goes up to 110mph! Does sound like roughly the performance of a pug 205, so quite likely an honest mistake...

Tom

If you check his other auctions the Pug205 is there with the exact same photo of the speedo, so yes, it could be an honest mistake. But I'd like to see the 944 speedo picture showing 47k, as he's not changed the mileage claim yet. Seems odd they're both about 47k. I think that's what 944psi was saying.

Hell, what does it matter, we're not going to buy it are we?

Phil

I asked him what the milage was on the 944 after he told me the picture was of the Pug speedo - 47k + full history [8|]
