16V 2.5 for sale on Ebay. Must be one of the first produced.

Interesting diagnosis he puts forward for the idle bounce..... Who ever buys it is either going to get driven mad by this very annoying problem or spend many many hours trying to figure it out. Unless he joins up here.

Hmm, I especially like the burgundy dash with black interior and those stripes on the badge panle are awesome. Still it might be cheap enough for someone with a can or two of black vinylcote and carb cleaner to sort out the ISV. Could do with an engine pic though.

Was the S out in '87 (sure as hell wasn't in '86 if my memory serves me right)?

Is the right answer.... Not sure what is going on here though. Although I will admit mine is MY '88 (by VIN) and its first registration date is in the first weeks of Jan 1988. So there may be an overlap of some months in MY production. I always asumed mine was an '87 until I checked the VIN.

I did think the Burgundy dash was rather out of place as the rest of the interior is like a coal pit (like mine).

I checked Peter Morgan's bible of 944 and apparently the S came out for MY 87 which means productions started September '86. That's still very quick to have a RHD version registered in the UK but I guess it's possible if RHD production started at the same time as LHD.

With the S2 you should let it idle for approx 10 mins after reconnecting the battery to reset the ecu (its in the handbook), not sure if it apllies to the earlier 16V's though,
Tony

Another ebay effort....

Seems like you stick a 5 ohm resistor some where along the AFM line and that is it. I presume this would make the ecu think the air flow is more than it is (or less, I can't recall which way round the AFM works). Seems like a massive over simplified tweek to me. Pretty much the same as rejetting a carburettor, which can have some pretty dire results if you get it wrong.

I am sure some one on here can suggest exactly what this does...

Quality item though, 'cause it's a Japanese resistor!

Seriously though, the amount of neg feedback, if anybody does buy, they deserve to get ripped!
