eBay Scam

Be aware there is a Silver Rose for sale on eBay and it is my recently bought car.

The details seem odd as when you copy the link or try to report the listing it takes you away from eBay!!!

This one?

That's the one. I logged in a couple of times and was given a different seller name as well??

Car is definitely not for sale so maybe a Big bid of £3900+ will pee him off [;)]

Re-directs here:

I have emailed and asked for a viewing apporintment prior to bidding.

What the betting he replies 'I'm Afgan, cant get home - send deposit etc'[;)]

Nice car Martin. Quite liked that myself when I was looking. Any more info/thread/pics? [:)]

Car is excellent mechanically and body wise, just going to do a few jobs over the coming month to bring it back to a more standard look then I will post some pictures up [:)]

It will make a nice car I think - are you re-fitting the a/c?

Yes air con fitted and have just got a full set of door mouldings from Porsche (£200) [:(] to be re fitted. Also the wheels will go back to Silver and the dump valve removed replaced with a recirculating one.

Not sure what to do about the exhaust as it is a 3" Lindsay Racing one, could I replace the back box with a quieter one or will this cause issues?

Has it got any other silencers apart from the back box? It was quite loud when I drove it and certainly not like a normal 944 turbo. IIRC it's a different turbo as well? You might little performance with increased back pressure but would it really make a lot of difference?

Not sure if it's a standard downpipe (from turbo to exhaust). If it's standard size there then I guess a standard 'ish exhaust would fit. Maybe someone would swap?

JMG would be a good place for advice..

one other thing I thought it needed - black calipers?

Yes it is a different turbo and uprated intercooler etc. will need to look at the options for the exhaust.

I font mind the red calipers and with the wheels back to silver they won't stand out as much but may go back to black at some point

Loving this. Apparently the car is mine, so long as I pay him this week.

Unfortunately, he is working away on an oil rig, so viewings are impossible. A shame, as my friend in Edinburgh wanted to view it today! [;)]

Strangely, he wants to deal through ebay exclusively for "my security", yet the ad isn't on ebay any more and he wants to do a private deal.....[8|]

And here I was ready to go and view the car for you [8|]

You'd better get the money sent to his Western Union account quickly Paul or you may lose out on this car!!

I hate thieving scum like this []

Nice car Martin. Just to throw my 2p's worth in i would say that the value in a Silver Rose is in keeping it as it left the factory. everything back to standard and sell the exhaust. It'll be worth more in my mind and be more interesting if it is as intended and in mint condition.

The same seller is again on eBay now trying the same scam with an RS2000 []

For some reason when I go to copy the link it gives a weird non eBay site???

Umm.... Shame as I'm edinburgh based and would love to view it tonight or tmrw. Which rig is on? I'm sure we'll find someone in the same rig that someone will know too!
