Part number 964 641 312 00

Is a US spec OBC, it looks like the same one I brought then subsequently found out it was not UK spec. I was able to get a full refund except for part of the carriage cost.

The seller, the same seller, has now put the part number on the listing, previously this was not included and he wouldn't tell me what it was when I asked him. I trusted him that it was UK spec as he said it reads in MPG/MPH. Since US gallons are smaller than Imperial gallons, it will underread the fuel consumption.

By the way he has now worded the listing, he is trying to cover himself if anyone. like me, discovers they have not brought what they expected.

Please bid with this in mind.

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]I suppose one way to help unwary others is maybe indicate this lack of clarity or initial/intentional vagueness in the feedback rating.

Unfortunately not, it is possible to purchase the plug & wire it in, which was my idea at the time.

I have subsequently decided that it isn't worthwhile.

Eventually sold for £65, which I would have been happy enough with despite it being a US part.

I had to pay over £200 so you can undersatnd when I wasn't best pleased when I found out it wasn't the genuine article. tbf, E-bay sorted me out a refund with the minimum of fuss expect they put a limit on postal charges of £5, which didn't quite cover it.

Just seen this - it was me that bought it!!!

As it happens, I had checked out the part#, so knew it was US spec.[:D]

For the money, I'm pleased with it, but the OBC backlighting has failed.[]

I'll try new bulbs first, but I gather from Rennlist it could also be a failed transistor...[]

Does anyone happen to know how to wire in the Temp sensor? There is one in my door mirror already, but I'm not sure how to wire it up...

Cheers
Vic

I got lucky
- it just needed new bulbs!!!

It was interesting to see the difference in the sale price once it became clear it was US spec.

I paid over £200 for it and thought it was a reasonable deal for what I thought was a UK spec instrument. You paid less than £60 for a US spec part. Interesting that if he had put it up on US Ebay he would have got in the $200-£300 range as that is what the used parts specialists are selling them for.
