EBC brake pad upgrades better than OEM?

Has anyone done pad upgrades at all? I have several track days booked this year and have wanted a simple & cheap solution to improving breaking on my C4S just for general safety (I do drive slightly fast on most occasions I'm in my car - weekend driver only syndrome!) and I've seen so many good reports on the EBC road/track brakes for the 996 (yellow I think?). But how good are they? what other brands have people used and are they better than the OEM pads I have fitted? Are there any issues with things such as wear indicator compatibility if using non OEM breaks?

The recent inspection at Cambridge Porsche said I had little wear brake wise and at my limited yearly mileage, I suspect it may be another 18 months before I had to change my pads (track use and wear pending). But the cost is reasonable to buy something like EBC (and with PCGB discount at some stores) and get them fitted so it looks like a good option to get rid of the current OEM pads for better braking and handling??

Any advice very welcome!

I have got Pagid R29 Yellows on the front and porsche standard pads on the rear. They seem to work well on the track and not get to hot

+ 1 On the Pagid.

EBC = Halfrauds.

I Had EBC Green on the car I use for work and could cook them so bad in a 10 minute drive to work.
The fade was unbelievable!.

Never tried EBC on a Porsche but had "reds" on Scooby many years back. Completely trashed after one track day! Maybe "yellow" would be better but I think I would go Pagid too for an upgrade.

Nothing wrong with upgrading your brakes but have you experienced any fading or reduction in braking during your track days?

I haven't noticed any major issue just felt the brakes could be better.

As I only attend 4 or 5 track days a year I don't really want to go for a dedicated track pad. e.g. Pagid Black RS421 were recommended but are they based on track only compounds?

Do people find issues with noise if they use a pad biased for track use? I assume using pagid 421's for example over the road/track blue 42's some squeal for road use will happen due to low temps? And OEM anti squeal and wear indicators may not fit as they are race pads and not designed to work with these systems, meaning the pads will not have the relevant cut outs for the wear indicators and may be thicker than standard due to no of anti squeal shims?
