EBC Pads and other brake components

What do you guys think of EBC red stuff?

I've always used them in the past, but when checking the Porsche ones are actually more expensive!

Are the original ones better? Or just more expensive?

I'm also planning on moving to floating discs up front, with 6 pots (calipers yet to be decided, but PCCB calipers or designtek ones are on the cards at the moment).

Any experience on floating discs on the 996? I'm assuming they are the same principle as others I have used before, they just minimize heat and warping, if anyone has any recommendation on brands for this application feel free to let me know :)

Cheers,

Steve,

Personally I don't rate EBC much different than OEM stuff on any car I have used them on.

You can get fade on green stuff street driving in 5 minutes.

Cheers, I just always used them back in the 90's, I thought they were good back then and swore by them on my skyline so have kind of stuck with them since. Never really decided to question it until now tbh when I noticed the price difference.

So would you say go with OE?

I don't rate EBC either. Have Pagid RS 29s on mine - excellent but pricey. I do know a man who can get them at a good price though...........[;)]
