Has anyone purchased an ecochip, advertised as a fuel saving device suitable for Boxster?
These are available from Amazon at quite reasonable prices, but I don't know a) if they work and b) if they are good value.

My comment would be to take a very close look at the online reviews for the item you are considering.

Many thanks - I'll certainly do that! Sounds as though you have some experience of this product

No 1st hand experience, but personally, I would declare "snake oil"

Generic chip that knows exactly what parameters to set for better fuel economy for and how to do it ANY car made in the last 25 years... for the price of a gallon of fuel......? That sounds like magic ( that the automotive industry would pay billions for..... )

I wouldn't carry one in a sealed container in the boot of my car, let alone plug it in, the very best it would do is nothing, the worst if it really does mess with the mapping is it causes the car to run lean or rich - potentially damaging engine or catalytic converters or sensors.......

Thanks - having researched this further it seems as though this gismo is a scam at best and does nothing to help at all other than make a light flash to make it seem as though it's doing a fine job!
