We will be staying at The four-star Lostwithiel Golf Club Hotel for £57 p.p. per day for Bed, Breakfast and Dinner. We have received good reports of this hotel from previous Porsche Club visits. On Saturday September 18th, we will visit the Eden Project and on September 19th the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
The Eden Project is likely to cost in the region of £10 p.p., including guided tour, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan approximately £7 p.p. Deposits of £40 p.p. will be required early in the New Year. Organised by R11, this is open to ALL members - please signify your interest to me preferably also via r11@porscheclubgb.com

Strewth, this looks like a totaly awsome weekend.

Let me get this right,

We are going to stay in the sumptuious 4 star Lostwithiel Golf Club Hotel for a mere £57 pp per day including Bed, Breakfast and Dinner....

On Saturday (18th Sept 04) we will visit the spectacular Eden Project, arriving in convoy from our overnight accomodation, having first partaken of a hearty breakfast - this included within the £57 as noted above. There, following a token consideration of approx £10 for entry to The Eden Project (this including the hugely subsidised guided tour) we will be overawed by the exotic flora & fawna and the technological majesty of the biospheres.

That evening, we will dine in the manner of Kings and discuss all subjects not necessarily appertaining to the demise of the air cooled engine. Finally retiring to our 4 star rooms, both contented by the day past and stimulated by the thought of the day to come.

On Sunday (19th Sept 04) following another hearty breakfast (for those who can still find room) we will again convoy through idyllic coutryside to The Lost Gardens of Heligan. A place almost lost for years and so secret that I don't know anything about it. The entry to this haven of natural beauty is an inconsequential £7.

Whilst the final details have still to be established there will be significant Porsche related fun and games, if only by playing "Lets drive around a lot until we get lost and then see what we can find."

To ensure your place on this benchmark PCGB weekend away please forward your deposit of £40 per head to Martyn at R11.

Imagine how you will feel when you leave the 2004 National and all your friends are saying... "See you at Eden". Make sure that you do.

very well put, still thinking about joining you, the only fly in the ointment is that my father also wants to come.........and he isn't a porsche fan[:'(]

I've little doubt that he would be most welcome Helen. At least if he's there you might behave yourself [;)]

Hi John,
I have just put some pictures on my website of the Japanese Gardens at
St Mawgan Cornwall, not too far away fromwhere you propose to stay.
It was one of the locals who told me about the gardens, you will see from the pictures that they are well worth a visit.

So Sims old chap........ are you actually going? Only it's very difficult to tell from your above post!
I always thought 'e' was a system that required brevity or was maybe something that speeded you up!

I am booked for what I suppose is really our "WOTY" and the DG's coming as well, now that's something in itself.
(DG....The Dear Girl, something like that bloke in Korea.."the dear leader")

The rest of you really need to get your skates on with this one.....deposits reqd by Jan '04! But as (I think) John is trying to say in book form, it's going to be a really great, not to miss weekend ...so get in touch with Martyn post haste ....or even sooner! [8|]

I was merely trying to demonstrate what a truely excellent weekend it is going to be. Some things are like a good wine, they require time to do them justice.[;)]

Thanks chaps, and especially John for keeping the flag flying whilst I was up north.

For those who have been fortunate enough to receive mail and have got the November P.P., you will see from the R16 report what a good time they had at the hotel and Eden. You will be pleased to know that I am proposing to avoid the horrors of the M5!

Bookings are going extremely well and there are just a few places left, so if you wish to join us, please hurry because we have booked a finite number of rooms!

Helen - I'm it all depends. I'm currently seeking £40 per head deposit from those who stated their wish to attend. The deposit is required by 20th January and in dependence upon whether or not all those who expressed their wish to attend actually provide deposits by the due date, so there may be rooms available. Anyone wishing to attend is requested to e-mail me at r11@porscheclubgb.com and I will then provide the address to whom deposits should be sent. Clearly if I am not able to secure rooms for those sending deposits, then they will be returned.
