EEK or Leak

Oh my goodness¬! (to put it politely).

I was under the car last night and saw some slight dampness around my driveshaft oil seals. Not too happy considering Northway did both last April and only 4k miles ago! Was thinking about giving them a call, as I'm sure if they were done properly they should last longer than that (considering the original ones were on there for 110k!!).

I'm hoping mine is due to the fact I've been a naughty boy and not driven mine much this winter due to snow and too much work at home,

I have heard they can seap a bit when the seal gets dry, No hard evidence though but I'm gunna make a wish.

I going to have a good clean up and keep my eye on it.

Failing that can I borrow your Nunchucks I haven't meet the guys at my local OPC yet!.

Indeed! Going to call them tomorrow if I get chance...

P.S, you can always borrow one of these if you want, more effective than the nunchucks lol!!

Done a few mods since those pics.

Sweet, little tidier than my set up! I have a ghetto one made of old bits of wood lol. I was planning on boarding it all in and making an arcade machine cabinet, but it got to the point where it was functional, and I just started playing it instead of finishing it off, it's out of the way anyway in my computer room - aka junk room according to the wife lol, it is really full of purposeful stuff (for me anyway). I like to keep it so people can barely open the door or fit in there apart from me haha. oh tutt tutt for drink driving though with the guiness!

Just to show the lack of space I am talking about:

I can't even fit the speakers in properly lol!!! The surround ones sit on the window sill....

Lol, I get really frustrated, especially playing sims after a few beers as I just can't keep the pace and keep crashing!

It is great fun, I've got the big PC built in there near the door dedicated to racing sims - GTR2, LFS, etc. I also create my own skins and sounds / dynamics for cars in GTR2 and upload them to nogrip.

I don't use it much on the PS3, as the PC's gfx etc are so much better, but I am partial to the race on shift every now and then.

No need to guess what my favorite cars are on them......

And yes no IMS / RMS lol!

Wow, that is taking it to the next level!

I did look into hydraulics not so long ago, but most of the ones that were available didn't look very good.

There's also knowing when to draw the line really, even my basic set up has cost me a good few k, not sure I could justify much more tbh, that is money that could be spent on a real car lol. Although this thread is making me think about finishing it and making it look a bit tidier....

You could use 36v super jacks with read switches? instead of hydraulics. (much, much cheaper)

Have to agree some are really hard with the wheel and it can take alot of fine tuning.

Dont want to plant the seed or anything.

SHIFT 2 SOON YIPPEE.

Should I rename the thread?.[]

That sounds a bit beyond me :)

Shift 2, I'll be keeping my eye out for that, I enjoy the odd blast on that.

Nah it's fine we were just discussing the lack of RMS leak on pretend porsches.....

Yes lol, on realistic with car wear / damage on, you go flying round a corner and the car drops it's oil all over the track causing oponents to crash.

In all seriousness for future owners reading this topic, it really isn't that bad :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I just like to tinker and get things done so I know they have been done :)

Steve,
