Eibach springs with Bilstein HD's?

My car has just been mot'd and I have been advised that that one of the original shocks is showing sign of a slight oil weep. I am quite happy with this because it gives me an excuse to go with the bilstein upgrade that everyone on here (and elsewhere) raves about. My question however is what do people think of eibach lowered springs. I had these on the car when I bought it and it looks like they have only been on the car for 2k miles or so, so I really dont want to buy a new set of springs unless it is absolutely necessary.

The car is a '96 c2 with 94k.

Also whilst I am at it would it be advisable to go the whole hog and change the AR bars, droplinks etc as the complete kit from Gert?

It's your call really and depends on how much money you want to spend. I have no experience with Eibach springs on a 993. However, if they are doing the job then why spend any more than is necessary? The Bilstein dampers will improve the ride and response of the vehicle noticeably.

Then again you are going to have all of the suspension taken apart it really would just be the cost of the parts to fit the full M030 springs and anti roll bars.

The intended usage will be mainly for fast road use and possibly the very occassional trackday..............opinions greatly appreciated with my options[8|]

Eibach are ok but there are better choices, if you've got HD's then why not Bilstein themselves

I've heard many reports of Eibach 993 springs sagging, and know of only one happy user ..

If that's me you're referring to, you now know of, (potentially), no happy users. I was at Croft last week and it appears there's a bit of a problem with either shocks or springs. The car is a bit of a nightmare through medium to fast corners at the minute [:(]

I've got to investigate it further, but if I'm pulling the trigger on a new set-up, it's only going to be one make and that's KW. The Bilstein, IMHO, doesn't get a look in in terms of quality.

Currently it's on HD's. The shocks and springs were fitted at about 168,000 and the car is now at 188,000. I find it all a bit disgruntling really, because 20,000 miles life doesn't really represent good quality. On the road you don't notice the problems, but on track they're quite apparent.

Robin at 9M speaks very highly of the KW's quality. One of the interesting things to me is the fact they're stainless steel and plastic; having seen how the HD's have corroded in 20,000 miles, that's a selling point on its own. Performance wise, my info is that everyone has been happy with the results but then I don't know if people have been on track with them.

I'm not actually bothered about the bells and whistles multi-adjustable aspects of the KW's, but from what I can tell it's the only 993 option available. I'll keep you posted.

That's a very nice burger from the trackside burger van I owe you! I'd not even given that a thought and didn't realise they offered it. I'll investigate!
