My new (well, old) C4S has electric seats. The seat recline control on the passenger seat didn't work when I bought it. I thought I would investigate, bad idea. Took the control handle off (easy enough) and discovered that the problem was that the pin on the switch didn't stick out far enough to locate in the hole in the handle. Wasn't sure why. Mistake number one, I unscrewed the plastic cover on the side of the seat and gently prised it off. It came away leaving the switches in their plastic moulding. It came away because the switch moulding wasn't properly clipped into the outer cover. So all I need to do is clip it together properly and replace? Except you can't clip the switch moulding onto the outer cover because the wiring loom into the seat is too short to allow this to be done. Do I have to take the seat out to get at the loom from the inside and loosen it? Or what? ( I did discover a small cube of plywood behind the moulding which might have been used previously to push the switch moulding forward and allow closure of some of the lugs.
