Electric Seat Memory

Recently the memory function on the driver's seat does not work when you unlock using the remote. However, it does work OK from the switch in the door. I have tried resetting the memory with the key in the ignition etc but with no success. Is there anything else anyone can suggest before I resort to a trip to the OPC. It is under warranty but I don't really want the hassle of having to book it in etc.

My car has occasionally lost the setting for the key and door switch but normally after a OPC visit ??
Otherwise I just reset using the press of the two buttons, you are using the two buttons ?

1. ?When you lock the car to test it are you waiting until the various electronics have shut-down before re-opening. If you look at the centre-lock LED it will flash quickly and then change to a slow standby flash (after ~10-15secs). If you open the vehicle before standby the seat memory function doesn't work reliably.
2. Undocumented: the memory function does not operate when car has dropped into sleep mode - this occurs after a period of ~7 days of not unlocking the car as a means of saving battery juice - this is when the remote stops working also.
3. OPC visit: the use of the PIWIS I am informed causes the memory module to "crash" but should recover soon after - sloppy engineering one might suggest.

Thanks for your responses. I am OK on all of the things mentioned so I guess I will need to get it checked by my OPC when convenient.
