Electric seat woes

Last week when fiddling around with my seats, I noticed that my drivers electric adjustment will not go up on the front part, ie the right switch on the up/down setting. It will do down though. My seats don't have backwards and forwards switches. Is there a fuse or relay that has gone stoping the adjustment working.?
Cheers.

When this happened to our 964,it turned out to be just a broken connection under the seat at the motor.

Could be a dirty contact which seems a frequent occurance. You can remove the switch, take it apart very carefully over a towel and give it a clean. WD40 seems to do the job. If I remember correctly replacement switches are not cheap! (Disproportionatly so!)

Both answers are good advice, mine too was a broken wire on the motor, they just are too short and on full travel stretch! If not, the switch can be carefully cleaned

Agree about the short wires-I think I re-routed as much of the spaghetti I found in & around the alarm & amplifier modules to improve matters. In fact removing the drivers seat was a great learning experience altogether[:)]

These switches seem to fail quite regularly. I've managed to use contact cleaner on a couple to revive them, but also replaced a couple as well.

Not had a problem with the wiring myself, but I can see how it might happen.

Take the seat out and open all the plugs up and check all the connections. I had the same on my electric sport seats and it was a broken connection. Make sure you disconnect the battery first as mine were live with the key out
