Hello chaps,
When we bought our '07 4.8S, we knew there were issues with the towbar. The previous owner hadn't used it so we thought it may be seized from lack of use. It seemed a bit far fetched but it was advertised as not having a towbar...
It's the OEM Westfalia retractable one, only it's permanently retracted! I took the bumper off to replace a reversing sensor so had a little fiddle at the same time.
I removed the full towbar assembly and checked it wasn't seized. It wasn't. I continuity checked all the plugs and connectors and they all checked out fine.
There seems to be no power getting to the switch in the boot. I can't chase the wiring loom back far enough to find out any other issues. All fuses are ok, just nothing at the switch. The next step was to remove all the interior trim from the boot/rear passenger area but I didn't fancy tackling that just yet.
Anyone got any ideas, or can point me at some documentation/manual for where the wiring goes, or anything that I can check..?
Anyway to check the switch in isolation? Or perhaps apply 12V to the assembly to get it to move..??
Thanks,
Ali
