Electric window adjustment - S2 cabrio

Just signed up and looks to be a wealth of info here! Just bought my first 944 (914 owner and despite only 1 number difference the cars couldnt be any more different!).

I have a problem with my drivers door window, have looked through the forums but couldnt find any help specific.

The door glass stops short by about 3 - 4mm so when it rains or I wash the car the inevitable happens. Ive taken the door card off and tried the top height adjuster but this didnt do anything. Im suspecting that there is play/wear somewhere so I will have to source a replacement mech? I can manually pull the glass up but no matter what I adjust the glass stops short.

Any help appreciated.
