Electric window getting slower.....

my drivers one does that, and sometimes packs out completely. typically that happened 1/2 way across belgium so i kept having to open the door to get tickets, show passports, etc..
i just remove the door card, slacken off hte bolts which hold the window mechanism a turn, and the wind the window up and down a couple of times and then tighten the bolts back up. it seems my problem is that the mechanism gets slightly out of alignment and then it binds up.. its also worth greasing everything up while you're in there; all the moving parts are fairly accessable..
Hope that helps
Ben

Well I've got the same problem too but mine is more with the passenger window. I've noticed it's slightly better (but still not exactly speedy) if you use the passenger window switch rather than the drivers one. Also both windows move a bit faster if the engine's running rather than stopped. Time to take the panels off and get out the grease gun by the sound of things....

if your motors getting a bit sluggish, it might also be worth (while you're in there with the grease gun) winding it up and down and tapping the motor on the end with a spanner or something.. seem's to free up sticking motors if they dont get used that often.. not the most technical fix ever, but might help [;)]
