Electric window motor failing?

My driver's window is now grinding to a halt as it reaches the top of its travel. Typically I need to help it up the last inch. It feels like the motor is dying. Is this the issue or could it be something else? I have had the mechanism lubricated recently but this has not really helped. Any ideas?

Have you had any rust debris at the bottom of the door shut ? I did just before the window winding mechanism failed. The winding rods etc inside the door were totally corroded away and I had to replace both sides. Took me a whole day I recall.

Might be worth checking the channels in the door that the glass moves in. The channels often have silicon implanted rubber which when perished grips the glass making the motor work doubly hard. Easy way of checking this is to run WD40 down the channels with the glass down and then wind up the glass. If it zips up, this could be your issue.

Update....the runners were perished. Had the offending article replaced and now works perfectly.
